Guatemala Retreat~ bliss & love

Namaste~

My two greatest passions are yoga and dance.

I started practicing yoga to help build strength, improve flexibility, and prolong my career as a professional ballet dancer.

After 16 years with the Joffrey Ballet I left to pursue a freelance career.

I felt all the challenges and fears of this transition into the unknown so I decided to dive into my yoga practice on a deeper level and found a new sense of  comfort, strength, and confidence in myself again.

My new passion for yoga led me to complete my 1st teacher training with Core Power Yoga.  I began teaching immediately and loved it. I was feeling the urge to explore more of what yoga had to offer so I began traveling, attending trainings, workshops and festivals around the country practicing with master teachers.

This brought me to an even deeper understanding of yoga, self, and learning to flow with life.  Following this exploration of the more internal, traditional, and holistic practice of yoga I traveled to India.

I completed  200 and 300 hours, as well as master trainings in India under Kia Miller with Radiant Body Yoga and Anand Mehrotra with Sattva Yoga. These trainings combine aspects of Hatha, Kundalini, Kriya, Pranayama, Mantra, Meditation, Tantra, Sufi, and Laya practices.  I have found these practices to be very healing & transforming, and elevate us to a higher state of consciousness.

My heart is also drawn to the practices of Bhakti Yoga, the path of devotion and love. These practices opened my heart and ignited my love of attending kirtan, chanting, and playing my harmonium.

I am dedicated to learning and growing as a teacher as well as in my own practice and self and have received additional trainings in Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, and Kirtan.

I also enjoy teaching special workshops, at yoga festivals, and leading yoga retreats around the world.

I have helped lead teacher trainings specializing in lectures on the Chakras, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Mantra, and Bhakti Yoga, along with advanced asana and inversion workshops.  My love for dance remains as I  also teach ballet and still find myself occasionally on the stage dancing.

I like to bring my passion of dance into my classes with a challenging, creative and fluid approach focusing on flexibility, strength, balance, and moving with the breath and I like to combine the various techniques I have learned within each class to challenge the mind and body and create a balanced and transformational experience within.

My goal  is to encourage everyone to find their own inner strength & peace, to continue growing and moving forward in life and to live through eyes of love.

To live will be an awfully big adventure.
